It should be possible to have a translucent navigation bar and tab bar like you can do with UINavigationController, or with @expo/ex-navigation.

It's possible to provide a BlurView for the background by using

headerBackground

for headers and

tabBarBackground

for bottom tab bar.

you can do this with header now. not planned on tab bar but you can submit a pr to support this if you like: http://github.com/react-navigation/react-navigation-tabs
